A estratégia de internacionalização do Instituto Atlântico, uma das principais instituições de ciência, tecnologia e inovação do Nordeste, ganhou um reforço importante neste mês de maio. A convite do Consulado Geral do Canadá em São Paulo, o instituto integrou a delegação brasileira em dois eventos internacionais relevantes no cenário da tecnologia, que aconteceram neste país da América do Norte: o Upper Bound AI Conference, de 20 a 23, em Edmonton, Alberta, e o Web Summit Vancouver, de 27 até amanhã, 30.

Eu conversei com dois dos quatro membros da delegação do Instituto Atlântico em um café em Vancouver. Albert Schilling Gomes (à esquerda na foto), Diretor Comercial, e Cleilton Rocha (à direita na foto), Líder de Inteligência Artificial (IA) e Ciência de Dados. Também estão no Canadá, Cupertino de Freitas, International Business Manager do instituto, e André Bezerra, Senior Information Technology Program Manager.

A minha primeira pergunta para Albert e Cleilton é se as visitas pareciam apontar para uma missão de sucesso. “Não tenho dúvidas que darão frutos”, afirmou Albert, que complementou: “Conhecemos o ecossistema da região, visitamos a Universidade de Alberta, que é um importante polo de IA, fizemos ótimas conexões na Edmonton Global, também conhecemos pessoas interessantes na Edmonton Unlimited e estamos conhecendo outras aqui em Vancouver”, disse o diretor.

“Participar, explorar ecossistemas canadenses, estreitar e fazer novas relações com empresas e ecossistemas de inovação e universidades têm sido uma experiência fantástica”, afirmou Cleilton.

Eles falaram que nos dois eventos, tanto em Alberta quanto aqui em British Columbia, estão recebendo muito conteúdo e informações valiosas sobre a aplicação da IA na indústria, na energia e isso tem gerado muito conhecimento e ideias. Quem sabe até novos parceiros internacionais.

Ainda há muitos detalhes que não posso revelar agora, mas que, em breve, trarei aqui no site. O que me deixou mais feliz foi saber da força do Atlântico fora do Ceará. E conversar com duas pessoas bem entusiasmadas e prontas para elevar o nome do Estado e do Brasil fora do país.

The internationalization strategy of Instituto Atlântico, one of the leading science, technology, and innovation institutions in Brazil’s Northeast, received a significant boost this May. At the invitation of the Consulate General of Canada in São Paulo, the institute joined the Brazilian delegation at two major international tech events held in Canada: the Upper Bound AI Conference, from May 20 to 23 in Edmonton, Alberta, and Web Summit Vancouver, from the 27th through today, the 30th.

I met with two of the four representatives from Instituto Atlântico’s delegation over coffee in Vancouver: Albert Schilling Gomes (left in the photo), Director of Business Development, and Cleilton Rocha (right), Lead for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science. Also participating in the Canadian mission are Cupertino de Freitas, the institute’s International Business Manager, and André Bezerra, Senior Information Technology Program Manager.

My first question to Albert and Cleilton was whether their visits were shaping up to be a success. “I have no doubt they will bear fruit,” said Albert, adding, “We got to know the local ecosystem, visited the University of Alberta, which is a key AI hub, made great connections with Edmonton Global, met fascinating people at Edmonton Unlimited, and are now networking here in Vancouver as well.”

“Engaging with Canadian innovation ecosystems, building and strengthening relationships with companies, research hubs, and universities, this has been a fantastic experience,” Cleilton shared.

They mentioned that both events, in Alberta and here in British Columbia, offered abundant, rich content and insight into the real-world application of AI in sectors like industry and energy, sparking new ideas, knowledge, and potentially, international partnerships.

There are still many details I can’t share just yet, but I look forward to revealing more here on the site soon. What made me happiest was seeing how strong Instituto Atlântico’s presence is beyond Ceará, and talking with two motivated professionals who are ready to elevate the name of our state and our country on the global stage.
