The investigation
According to Yukon News, investigations began after data was discovered on devices seized during a firearms investigation. Supposedly, the devices found contained data that could suggest attempts to invade more than 300 secure networks.
Despite the attempts, the police ruled out that, effectively, there was theft of data from victims during attempts to incursion into networks.
The accused
Fearon Steele has received 13 indictments, according to Yokon News. Among them are unauthorized computer use and nine more damage charges to computer data after the investigation. Steele appeared at the Yukon Territorial Court on July 19.
